Knittofit

This page is a brief outline of my PhD research into improving the fit of knitwear for women of a UK size 16 using existing digital knitting systems. Through working with a small user group of women, I developed a method to produce garments that did not cling or drag, but fitted the actual body of shape of the wearer. samples and garments were programmed using a Shima Seiki Apex 3 design system, and knitted on an industrial electronic V bed knitting machine (SES series).

More about this research and my current research practise can be seen on the University of Brighton academic research pages.
